Footy Show!

So footy show is the Grand Final of the residential colleges AFL league. AFL, to be honest looks to be a bunch a bunch guys running around like a chicken with their heads cut off until you get the rules. This wasn't my first footy match, and trying out for the team gave me a semblance of what playing entails.

Here's a link to an ok video about all that:

Regardless, this was a BIG DEAL. Both of the St. Mark's teams (boys and girls) made it to the finals. The girls hadn't won in 8 years, while the boys haven't lost in recent memory. So the pressure was on. So colors on. Barbie out. More Sausages later...

ST. MARKS HAD A WIN AGAIN! A double win in fact. The girls won in a straightforward manner. The boys however have a nailbiting match to win by 3 points (FYI a goal is 6 points... so pretty much similar to winning b/c of a field goal). I was very exciting A) because it was very close B) I knew what was going on! Quite a thrill (only through watching the girl's slower matches did I figure it out). Anyways it was a huge deal. So much so, St. Mark had a open bar pond party (scheduled if we won or not). All and all A big night.

Thanks Glen and Jenae for the pictures. (a bit out of order)

Winning! (I'm the one in the Docs on the end)

We made a tunnel for the guys when they were loosing to pump them up.

Girl celebrated with traditional mud wrestling.
