Finished With Uni! (Pretty Much)

So I'm done with Assignments! (well I have to turn it into his office) So onto new adventures for 2.5 weeks (until the family comes to meet me). I celebrated by going back to my roots.... redesigning a 3$ shirt that spent too much time in the closet. I learned a lot of techniques that I'm definitely to the shop. I'm pretty happy with it.

you can't really tell from the photo, but I fringed all of the edges, which takes quite a while. We'll see if it makes it back to the states.

Lots of small events have happened. A pub crawl with all the colleges. And tonight we are having an international dinner, where we are going to try kangaroo and crocodile.

Anyways I have quite the to-do list set in front of me. I'm hoping to hit all the museums and art galleries in walking distance (which is actually quite a bit... it is a capital city) and to visit the towns of Victor Harbor (penguins) and Port Adelaide. LOTS OF HISTORY! HOORAY!

Last weekend was Volleyball. We won! And it was only later did I realize that it was the last Sport at St. Marks (and prob for me too..) It was a strange feeling. I had come to like the routine of it, and will definitely miss that back at Pitzer. But also HOW EXCITED AM I TO COME BACK! So many stories to tell. And I don't want to be that person, but I gather that this has been a life changing experience. I wouldn't say THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE (too many lows for that), but for sure one of the most important and valuable experiences/ use of my time. The Cultural Studies major in me was fed in a whole new context and it was invigorating. I learned new perspectives and though teased incessantly I'm still a proud American (sorry to the whole becoming a "global citizen" thing.... not very effective and just think of the logistics.) I was thrown out of my liberal arts element and into the world of engineers, scientists, Law/Commerce, and med. I was questioned about the validity of arts time and time again, and the experience I've had here just proves how much we need the liberal arts. Yes we need people to build things, but we need make sense of them. Socially (RACE, GENDER, CLASS always). I can't wait to hear about all the adventures of my compatriots. I can't wait to get back to my element which is unequivocally Pitzer. Sorry, St.Marks you were great fun , but my heart belongs to Pitzer College. Where events go unattended, people are friendly, and music is always accepted.

Anyways, quite the ramble. I will keep you my lovely audience updated on all my small adventures in Adelaide as I have much more time. And thanks for reading :)
