Melbourne!

So we spent most of our time in Melbourne walking in circles (a classic family activity). We just wandered around the city. It was refreshing to be back in my city element. I really liked Melbourne and prob would have been totally pleased to have spent 5 months there (but all the country culture I would have missed). Anyways, we wandered into cafes, bars and the malls. Looking at St. Kilda, we even ran into a land rights protest, which I think was important for my family to see, even if it did delay the trams. We even checked out the Botanic Garden.

But the best part was taking the fam to a Footy (AFL) game. I had done my research and my Adelaide Crows were playing the Collingwood (suburb of mel) Magpies at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds. So I inquired after getting tickets to the concierge of our hotel. He was so impressed that a bunch of American tourists would be interested in that sort of thing, he personally helped us out. As a member of the Cricket Club, he got 4 visitor tickets per game and hooked us up! We got to go in our own special entrance and were field level at mid field. We could actually watch the game and my dad and brother picked up the rules from me way faster than I had figured them out originally. my crows ended up getting beat pretty bad, but it was good fun and ciders all around.

The boys having their first meat pies!

Up to the Top end for this one!
